He followed the steps of his grandfather, father and brother, but unlike them, he did it on horseback. He is probably one of the most well-known rejoneadors in present-day bullfighting, and the Manzanares name grants him innate qualities that mark him out to become a great bullfighter on horseback. He debuted in public at Juriquilla (Mexico) in 2007 and during the 2008 season he performed in six events, earning six ears in total, a highlight being the show he gave against the second bull of Benítez Cubero in Écija, for which he was awarded two ears.
